Chapter 1
Church's Betrayal To Mother Teresa
Is Mother Teresa, the most revered and fondly called as ‘Mother' by the people all over the world, a Saint?
Will the Catholic Church grant ‘Sainthood' to Mother Teresa who had served the poorest of the poor for nearly 47 years?
The Catholic Church is responding to these questions, for which millions of people have been waiting eagerly for answers:
“Mother Teresa cannot be considered as a Saint on the basis of her service. Hence, at present she cannot be granted Sainthood”, answers the Catholic Church.
The Catholic Church explains that as per the law of the Catholic Church, ‘Sainthood' will be granted to only those who have performed two miracles. The Catholic Church says that under the current tradition, after the first miracle is performed, ‘Beatification' will be conducted and an additional miracle attributable must be verified for elevation to Sainthood.
The Vatican recognized the following as a miracle performed by the Mother; the healing of abdominal tumor of a Kolkata woman over a single night when conventional medical treatment could not eradicate the tumor. After this incident, Pope John Paul II ‘Beatified' Mother Teresa in 2003. The Catholic Church awaits the second miracle.
The Catholic Church till this day has conferred ‘Sainthood' on approximately 8000 deserving people. Pope John Paul II, during his 27 years of service had conferred ‘Sainthood' to 464 people and has performed ‘Beatification' for nearly 1000 people. Among the Popes, he is the only one who has conferred the maximum number of ‘Sainthood' and ‘Beatification' till now.
Though ‘Sainthood' has been given in such large number, Mother Teresa, whose service has been praised by the whole world, has not been awarded with ‘Sainthood' which is shocking to the people all around the world.
During these 27 years, all the 464 people on whom ‘Sainthood' was conferred and the 1000 people who were ‘Beatified' put together should have performed thousands of miracles. The technological advancement in the field of mass media should have enabled people worldwide to know about all these happenings in no time. Under these circumstances, if thousands of miracles have been performed within this short period of time, and no Catholic Christian is aware of it, raises doubts as to whether the above-mentioned people have actually performed two miracles each.
Mother Teresa, who lived a saintly life for 69 years, had never been waiting for any miracle to take place. Through prayer she did not summon to God, to cure any diseases or troubles and attempt at any miracles. When things are in such a state, how could one, expect her to perform miracles after her death?.
Mother Teresa believed that, serving the poor was equal to serving Jesus Christ, the Son of God. While she was washing the wounds of the lepers, Mother Teresa believed that she was applying medicine to the suffering Jesus, and did it whole heartedly.
“A person who is lying dead on the road without any support, and a person who is depressed with leprosy and is frustrated, is also I ”.
Mother Teresa had implicit faith in the above-mentioned words of Jesus Christ.
“Whenever you did this for one of the least important of these brothers of mine, you did it for me.” (Math. 25: 35 – 45).
Mother Teresa followed the above-mentioned preaching of Jesus Christ word by word in her life.
God's voice which said,
“Leave everything and follow me to serve the poorest of the poor” was heard.
Mother Teresa told the incident of how a 18 year old young girl, Agnus Gonxha Bojaxhiu after hearing the above, followed the path shown by Jesus Christ and surrendered her life for serving the poor.
When she explained about her saintly life, she clearly stated that, serving the poor people is equal to offering prayer to God.
“Faith through prayer and faith through service, both impress upon the same idea, the same love and the same compassion”.
Thus Mother Teresa elaborated on it.
In olden days, lepers were despised and shunned by the society. The reasons were ignorance and non-availability of the present day medical facilities. They were hated by the society. Their family members abandoned them, and chased them away from homes.
Mother Teresa cleaned and washed their wounds, applied medicines and cured them. She trained those, who had lost part of their fingers, in small-scale industries, thereby giving them a new life. The sarees woven by them are worn by the ‘Missionaries of Charity' staff even today.
Throughout the world in 133 countries, the staff of ‘Missionaries of Charity' which was started by Mother Teresa, are educating the poor children free of cost; in 1400 places, the poor are relieved of sickness; in 755 houses, destitute people are given comfort and better life and so on.
Throughout the world, the staff of ‘Missionaries of Charity' consisting of 4500 sisters, 400 brothers and lakhs of co- workers, are serving the poorest of the poor and the deserted
When Mother Teresa expressed her decision of leaving the Loreto Convent School and serve the poor, the Archbishop of Kolkata said disinterestedly,
“She has no strength for even lighting a candle. She is incapable of doing what she is aspiring to do” .
He was not aware of the fact that, in future, this sister, who appeared to be very weak, was destined to perform enormous feats.
Mother Teresa who appeared as having no strength to even light a candle, fought independently to start an organization to serve the poor, and finally succeeded in her mission.
At first, only Mother Teresa's two hands were serving the poor and the forsaken. But at present, there are lakhs of hands all over the world doing the same service. Even after Mother Teresa has passed away, this service is continuing all over the world. Mother Teresa has not only cured lakhs of patients during her life time, but is still performing the miracle of curing them, even after her death.
It is really astonishing to note that the Catholic Church is not willing to accept all these as miracles and is saying that Mother Teresa has already performed a miracle in Kolkata and that they are waiting for her to perform another miracle.
During the past 2000 years, the Catholic Church has had 21 councils of all the bishops of the world to discuss the future plans and aims, and has taken decisions. During the last council held at Vatican (Vatican II Council), 2900 bishops of the world assembled (in 1965) and one of the conclusions disclosed was:
“Depending upon the needs, the Church can volunteer to organize groups to do merciful acts for the people and the poor. Why? It should be formed.”
When we come to know that, Mother Teresa had started her services 17 years before (in 1948) this Vatican II Council's decision was formed, we understand that Mother Teresa had been a lighthouse for the Catholic Church.
The Vatican II Council is again releasing a decision. This decision, in the following head ‘The role of the Church in the present day world' gives faith to those who are suffering.
“All those who are bearing the heavy weight of the Cross, those who are crying their heart out, the deserted, those who are suffering due to legal problems and tortures, have this cleared. God's kingdom is the kingdom of expectation. It is the kingdom of happiness. It is also the kingdom of life.”
“Remember that you are the people of this kingdom.”
Thus, the Catholic Church makes the poor people believe that they are the people of God's kingdom. This decision, for the past 42 years, exists only in black and white and has not taken any effect. Mother Teresa had practiced it as a policy and has also succeeded in it.
The Catholic Church is refusing to declare Mother Teresa, the only Catholic Christian who implemented the decision of Vatican II Council even before 17 years as a ‘Saint', even though she had been preparing the people for God's kingdom for the past 49 years.
To proclaim her as a ‘Saint', they have stubbornly stated that she has to perform a miracle beyond nature.
Monika Besra, who lived in a small town named Pathiram near Kolkata, was suffering from an abdominal tumor, which was incurable by the doctors. They suggested to her, to take special treatment in the hospital in Kolkata.
It is said that she was brought to the house of a staff of ‘Missionaries of Charity' and for three months, every night the sisters prayed to God continuously
On 5th September 1998, which happened to be the first anniversary of Mother Teresa, the patient got up suddenly at midnight, a beam of light passed from the photo of Mother Teresa to her and found that the abdominal tumor had vanished and this is explained as the ‘First miracle' by the Catholic Church.
Monika Besra's husband had been issuing contradictory statements to the press, which created innumerable doubts. It is said that instead of disclosing the medical records of Besra, the sisters of ‘Missionaries of Charity', received them and took them along with them.
When the local doctors were unable to cure the patient and suggested special treatment by the doctors of Kolkata, what was the reason for not providing that treatment?
Some of the best surgeons of the world in foreign countries are serving as volunteers and had come to ‘Missionaries of Charity' to perform surgery free of cost. Instead of getting their help, why is it that the patient was kept in their house itself and prayer was held?
Why should the Catholic Church, which is refusing to grant ‘Sainthood' to Mother Teresa based on her service, not accepting all the miracles she performed earlier and lakhs of miracles which she is performing now try to create an impression with great difficulty that she had performed one miracle? Why should the church wait for 9 years for another miracle?
The Pope and Church clergy have betrayed Mother Teresa by publishing her confession letters on the motive of bringing mockery talks and criticism towards her
Trying to bring disrepute to the fame of Mother Teresa, who is a worldwide popular personality and to create a critical situation that many atheists and critics could criticize her, our Catholic clergy have done this. Why?
Why is the Church trying to diminish her fame in the world arena and trying to fabricate her to be supernatural? |
